More About Bevin.
Hey, I’m Bevin!
I’m a surfer, mountain biker, skier, wife, and mother. And since 2020, I’m the proud owner of Eugene Gear Traders™ (EGT).
As a kid, I remember waking up to new gear on Christmas morning—backpacks, sleeping bags, hiking boots; you name it. My family was all about the outdoors. We competed in triathlons, backpacked, and rode bikes all around the Big Island, Hawai’i, where I grew up. Nowadays, my husband, Luke, and I drag our kids around Oregon skiing, mountain biking and surfing.
Getting outdoors and trying new activities can get expensive, especially with a family, so we turn to buying used items. If we can get Goretex Ski Bibs for half-off-retail or a used skis setup for $300 rather than $600 brand-new, it’s obviously worth it!
Growing up in Hawaii, I fell in love with surfing. After moving away I spent my early adult life managing a surf shop in North Bend, and traveling to warm breaks around the world. Eventually I got my Engineering degree from OSU before moving to Jackson Hole, where I worked as a buyer at the ski resort.
The shop in Jackson was super dialed—I learned from the best. Everything looked great on the racks, everything had its place, and most importantly, it was easy for customers to find what they needed; something I aim to replicate at my shop today.
High quality outdoor gear holds its value, and for good reason. It is made of reliable, engineered fabric and designed with technical, heavy use, and safety in mind. When you try on a Goretex or Dermizax rain jacket, new or used, you can tell it’s gonna hold up, which is exactly why I started EGT; to provide a quick and easy way for people to both buy and sell high quality used gear. As a consignment shop, our inventory changes daily, but I believe that being organized is key to helping customers find what they need without the necessity of buying something new.
Thank you for interest. I look forward to seeing you at the shop and chatting more!
